What is Manufacturing-X?
Manufacturing-X is a German government funded initiative (not a project) to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of the German, European, and global manufacturing industry through digitalization. Factory-X is the lighthouse project in this initiative.
It aims to create one open digital ecosystem for all manufacturing industries to streamline processes and enable new digital business models.

The joint project Factory-X has developed an M-X requirements specification that describes, in an implementation-neutral way, the requirements for existing or newly established M-X organizations. The M-X requirements specification can be accessed via the download button “M-X Lastenheft.”
