An industry event on digital data exchange and digital infrastructure took place at INVITE GmbH in Leverkusen, bringing together experts and practitioners to discuss how cross-company collaboration can be successfully implemented in the process industry.
With over 60 participants on site and around 60 joining online, the event attracted a broad audience from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Practical use cases and two live demonstrators showed how interoperable data exchange across heterogeneous systems can already be realized today using Asset Administration Shells and cloud technologies.
The discussions highlighted that while the required technologies are available, shared standards, clear data models, and consistent implementation are the decisive factors for creating real value. The strong participation and intensive exchange underlined the relevance of these topics for future competitiveness.
The Factory-X event was jointly organized by TÜV SÜD and the Open Industry 4.0 Alliance, with contributions from BASF, Bayer AG, SAP, Tectrion GmbH, and further partners.
